The school motto is "St. Pius X School - Where All Children Are Honored." One of the ways that students are honored is by a program entitled,"Blue Jay of the Day." Each day one student from the school is selected to be the Blue Jay of the Day. His or her name is announced on our televised KJAY morning announcements and a description of the student is read by the principal. Afterwards, the student is summoned to the office to receive a special book and certificate, and a Blue Jay cookie. The student also receives a badge to wear all day and has his or her picture taken for the bulletin board in the cafeteria. It is a special recognition that the students long to receive. Parents are notified the week before and are invited to attend this special occasion.
